This is also from Cafe Racer Ypsi . A 750 Virago for total cafe racer modifications. Kinda cool that they have given me artistic freedom on it but I'm bummed that its a Virago. Not that I have a problem with them as a motorcycle, its the frame that bugs me, so ugly.
Ry,
ReplyDeleteUnless you're doing some motor and gearing I don't know that this racer will ever do the ton. My dad has a 74 and I thought she was going to blow around 85. Nice bike for its age otherwise.

I'm not sure what the plans for the engine are at this time . This one is more a restyle / streamlining job for me.
DeleteThe shaft drive really makes it difficult to dink around with gearing. Its not always about top speed anyway, although it's nice to keep up with your friends.
Sure, she'll pull just fine all the way to the top, so if they're just out riding and having a good time it'll be great. If they want to pass anyone that might be trouble. I have a '78 honda and I just know better than to do a lot of passing unless the person's wearing adult diapers.

... there are a few really good cafe conversions of that base out there.
ReplyDeleteThe XV makes a great looking cafe racer once you deal with the rear subframe sitting so low. Good luck!
