This machine, built in 1922 but has been in my family for 40 years. When my mom gave it to me 15 years ago she said "you should put a motor on it". Well, I finally did. I also rebuilt, cleaned, tuned it up a bit and made the table. Not to mention, with some advice from Pineapple Jay, I picked out the appropriate needles and thread to start getting a little more decorative with my saddle making.
Nice update on the old foot-pedal Singer. It probably runs like a sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteI once hooked a 1/2 horse electric motor to a hand-crank meat grinder. I used the pulleys I had available. The ratio was wrong and the grinder ran at an incredibly high speed. I put some pork in the hopper, and instead of sausage, the result was pink, foamy slime.
